Here’s some info incase you can’t quite read the text…

SPECIES: Ancient Shark
TYPE: Helicoprion
AGE: 290 Million years

Helicoprion, meanining "spiral saw" is an ancient shark-like creature which lived 290 million years ago. It was named for it's strange and distinctive "tooth whorl", which puzzled researchers for many years.

Here we have an artistic reconstruction with "tooth whorl" set at the front of the lower jaw, as current research suggests. It is thought that the teeth grew in a spiral and were replaced as the shark increased in size.

This is a representation of a juvenile specimen, fully grown helicoprion were thought to reach up 10 metres in length, with a "tooth whorl" up to 45cm across.

With huge thanks to Incredible Creations xx
