1 September 2025

Making plans for Christmas? Discover the festive fun on offer at Stump Cross Caverns in the Yorkshire Dales.

Here at Stump Cross Caverns in the Yorkshire Dales, visitors come throughout the year to explore the wonderful caves and rock formations.

These winding passageways and enchanted chambers would be enough to put Stump Cross on the map. But we're not content to rest on our limestone laurels. That's why we have a calendar bursting with
events and experiences – and this Christmas is no exception.

We offer two Christmas packages. Choose the first and you'll get to meet Santa, then take a trip down into our ancient caves. With the second, you get the Santa meet-and-greet, the cave adventure and a festive film screening in our private cinema. Each package can be booked for a variety of adult and child combinations.

These magical events are perfect for families looking for festive fun. We look forward to meeting you in our prehistoric grotto!

Santa Experience and Cave Entry

No child's Christmas is complete without a visit to Santa's Grotto. At Stump Cross this Christmas, kids get to meet Santa and his jolly Elf. They tell him their Christmas wishes and make reindeer food to take home.

Included in the ticket is a self-guided tour of the caves. This lets you explore the caves and marvel at the mysterious rock formations.

As well as classic stalagmites and stalactites, our caves are full of
weird and wonderful rocks – from The Organ to The Wedding Cake, from The Hawk to The Butcher's Shop.

Our second package includes all the fun of the first. But that's not all. We also throw a festive film into the mix. The screening takes place at 4 PM in our cosy private cinema – all fluffy rugs and soft cushions. We guarantee you a Christmas classic that all the family will love.
