Here at Stump Cross Caverns, we're not content to rest on our limestone laurels – as beautiful and beloved as our caves are.

As well as welcoming visitors to the caves, we host a wide range of events and workshops. And this October and November, we're bringing back our
Cosmic Adventures workshops.
These fun and informative sessions are all about the mysteries of the universe. They reflect our passion for learning through play.

Led by our educators, these sessions are perfect for kids and families alike. Here's what you can expect.

What can I expect at the Cosmic Adventures workshops?

Our Cosmic Adventures workshops are all about space. Participants learn how to identify the major constellations along with fascinating facts about the universe.
They then get to try their hand at some fun, hands-on activities, creating model planets and constellations to take home and keep.

The workshops are designed to keep kids entertained and informed. But they're fun for all the family, too. We guarantee an absorbing, fun and mind-expanding time.

Or why not try a spot of stargazing?

In November, we're running two of our beloved Dark Skies sessions . Led by a guest astronomer, these sessions see you gaze through telescopes at the famously clear Yorkshire night skies.

Whether you're new to stargazing or an old hand, they're a great way to pass a winter evening. Just make sure you wrap up warm!

The sessions take place on the evenings of Friday 7 November and Friday 21 November.

Each session also includes a glow-in-the-dark tour of the caves under UV light. Learn more about our
UV cave tour .

Bring the cosmos to your classroom

In October and November, we're holding Cosmic Adventures sessions right here at Stump Cross. But we also take our workshops on the road and can visit your school .

Choose from Cosmic Adventures, Stone Age Workshops and Fossil Digs. These are built for Key Stage 2 and put the focus on learning through play.
